For Immediate Release
VERNON, Calif. –
We are heartbroken to confirm that a sanitation worker lost his life on the night of Sunday, July 13, 2025, while performing routine cleaning duties at our Vernon facility.
The individual, an adult sanitation worker employed by an outside staffing agency, was assigned to sanitation services at our facility. He had received safety training.
He was cleaning an empty industrial kettle, which has no grinding capabilities and was being sanitized in preparation for the next day’s production. Despite the immediate response of coworkers and emergency personnel, he tragically passed away at the scene.
Our hearts are with his family, friends, and all who knew and worked alongside him. This is a devastating loss for everyone connected to our team.
We are cooperating fully with local authorities and Cal/OSHA in the ongoing investigation. Our focus remains on honoring his life, supporting those who are grieving, and upholding the highest safety standards.
Out of respect for the ongoing investigation and all those impacted, this is the only official statement we will be making at this time.
